Jersey Sustainability Initiative

Raise your hand if you have more KASA jerseys than you care to count?

After years and years of providing a new jersey for every single league, we knew we needed to find a more sustainable approach; both financially and environmentally.

In an effort to reduce waste and save our members a few bucks, we developed our new Jersey Sustainability Initiative.

If you signed up for one of our 2021 Indoor leagues then you are already familiar with our approach. If you’re new here, let me give you the lowdown…

Moving forward, the next time you register for a league you will receive two jerseys: 1 x orange and 1 x blue. “Home” teams(the first team listed on the match) will wear Blue and the “Away” team will wear Orange.

For example: if the schedule reads the following, Nivins Give Up would be considered the “HOME” team and wear Blue. Mike Drop would be “AWAY” and wear Orange.

Note — we will try to incorporate the colour coding of this Home vs Away approach in future schedules, but it’s a work in progress at the moment!

As you register for future leagues, you will be given the option to purchase an additional jersey or stick with what you have. Ultimately, the goal is to re-use the current jerseys as often as possible to reduce waste, reduce membership fee, and simplify the process.

To turn this initiative into a reality, we chose to use a Canadian soccer company, Avanti. Avanti is the leading soccer equipment distributor in Canada and was established in 1987. We are happy to be supporting a local company and very impressed with their jersey quality.

Looking forward to hearing your honest feedback on the jerseys and our new approach!
